Sofi Oksanen: Puhdistus

Puhdistus
For a really long time i stayed away from this book. A lot of people recommended it for me and everyone had something to say about it. I believe it was some sort of a pierpressure that drove me into reading it. And i'm glad it did happen.

The story opens up the history in Estonia and follows the tragic memories of Aliide Truu and other women whose lifes in the country hasn't been easy. The story itself is rough and you'll probably get grossed about it. Still it's a strong statement of a piece of history that i didn't even know it really existed.

John Boyne: The boy in the striped Pajamas

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Bruno is a young boy who with his family moves to the countryside. There he gets to know this other boy and they'll get really close friends. The other boy lives on the other side of a fence, he has dirty clothes and he is always hungry. Bruno brings him food and wonders what is life like over there on the other side. Little does he know that his father is a Nazi officer and the fence is around a concentration camp...

I'd say this is the most waking book about this certain subject. The innocence of these two boys is so heartbreaking and the ending made me sick to my stomach for days. 100 times better than the movie so go read it now!

Sue Monk Kidd: The secret life of bees

The Secret Life of Bees

Co-worker of mine recommended this book to me with the words:" you just got to read it, i can't tell you anything about it because otherwise i'd give up the real point behind it.. But it's about bees and a girl. Go read it now!". And i read it, and i can't describe it to you guys either. You just have to read it yourselves.

The movie was good as well, Dakota Fanning makes so much justice to the character. Very well done. Can't actually say which one was better, the book or the movie..
